The 2008-2009 triathlon season has now drawn to a close, ending yet another chapter for the Southport Triathlon Club.  The last season has been one of amazing success for the Club, with many members achieving PBs and completing new distances they previously hadn't attempted before.

There were many special performances throughout the season, particularly those members who set themselves goals at the start of the season and achieved then by the end of the season.  Congratulations to Renee Nicholls who won several half ironman and ironman races in Australia (female 25-29 age group) and is now preparing for the Hawaiian Ironman this October.  Special mention also to all our World Triathlon Championship qualifiers who will be wearing the green and gold with proud this September on our home soil, Southport Queensland.

Another notable performance was by Dr Graeme Barber who decided to do the UK Ironman for a bit of fun on his way home to Canada, qualifying for the Hawaiian Ironman in the process.  Graeme went on to win his age group in Hawaii (male 65-69 age group) in a fantastic time of 14hrs34mins. Inspirational!

If you are thinking about joining a triathlon club, look no further than Southport Triathlon Club.  We have a fantastic Coach that conducts up to seven sessions each week, mixing things up to keep things interesting.  There is a very active squad who loves being fit and healthy and enjoys a camaraderie that only a squad environment can offer.  If you don't live on the Gold Coast and live in an area where there is no Coach or a tri club to join, our Coach offers personalised training programs that can help you achieve your goals. If this sounds like you, Contact Us to get started on your path to achieving success.

The list of events below doesn't cover every up coming race, however they are some of the popular races being attended by members of Southport Triathlon Club over the next few months.

If you feel an event should be listed here, please Contact Us.
